Middle School

The THA Middle School combines small class sizes with an emphasis on student empowerment to cultivate a lifelong love of learning in students from 6th through 8th Grade.

We provide numerous opportunities for students to develop personal traits, academic knowledge, and a connection to Judaism, enabling them to contribute to and be part of the THA community.

Exemplary Academics

The focus on educational discovery in core subjects empowers our middle school students to blend creative thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications of what they learn in the classroom. Core concepts are enhanced through co-curriculars, after-school programming, and exploration trips. Classroom curriculum aligns with the academic standards set by the Arizona Department of Education and Next Generation Science Standards.

Joyful Judaism

Jewish values are woven into the fabric of THA, encouraging students to deeply connect with, and celebrate, Judaism through academic and personal growth. Through learning Hebrew and participating in Jewish traditions, students are encouraged to embrace Jewish life in the ways most meaningful, and joyous, to them.

Real World Learning

Middle schoolers at THA can participate in exploration trips that provide real-world learning experiences related to their classroom content. Sixth graders travel to Southern California for a marine biology exploration trip, seventh graders visit Alabama for a civil rights exploration trip, and eighth graders engage in a once-in-a-lifetime Jewish capstone trip.

Dual Language Learning

In the United States, one in five K-12 students is enrolled in a world language class. Research indicates that learning a second language enhances a child's cognitive abilities in all areas of academic study and critical thinking while fostering a global perspective.

At THA, students of all grades actively engage in learning Hebrew. In Middle School, they focus on expanding their vocabulary and developing proficiency in reading and speaking Hebrew to acquire the skills needed to study original Hebrew texts in Jewish studies.

Life Beyond THA

Our graduates thrive at Tucson's top high schools, including University High School, The Gregory School, and Catalina Foothills High School.

Nurturing Minds and Bodies

Tucson Hebrew Academy’s kosher kitchen provides fresh, daily-made lunch options and a nutritious salad bar for students in all grades.

Physical Education in Partnership with the Tucson J

Physical Education (PE) programming is enhanced by our partnership with the Tucson J. Along with access to state-of-the-art fitness facilities, THA Lions have access to basketball courts, tennis/pickleball courts, and a community pool.

Why choose a Jewish day school?

As Tucson’s only Jewish day school, THA may better align with your family’s desire for enhanced academic performance and a strong sense of community for your child.

Attending a private school allows your child to have a more tailored educational experience. At THA, they can easily foster a sense of belonging in our tight-knit community and receive individualized attention in small classes.
