Co-Curriculars
At THA, the spirit of discovery in classrooms is coupled with co-curricular programming to allow students the opportunity to discover interests, develop their leadership skills, and experience the benefits of being a part of a community.
Athletics
Go Lions! The THA athletics program focuses on developing personal traits of commitment, teamwork, leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship. THA competes in the Tucson Independent Athletic League (TIAL), which is comprised of area independent schools.
The after-school athletics program is offered to all fifth- through eighth-grade students.

Student Council
Student council, available for Middle Schoolers, is a great opportunity for students to foster leadership, community engagement, and collaboration skills.
Under the direction of Middle School Department Chair, Jennifer Lehrfeld, student council members organize events, advocate for student interests, and contribute meaningfully to the campus. Engaging in student council not only enriches a students’ experience at THA but also prepares them for future leadership roles.
Green Team
Students in all grades can participate in Green Team, a gardening club led by Master Gardener and Hebrew Studies teacher, Lev Metz. Participating students learn to care for and grow plants in container gardens on campus and several plot gardens in the Tucson J’s Shay-Shay community garden.
Under the care of the Green Team students, the THA gardens have produced: fennel, sugar snap peas, spring onions, beets, lettuce, spinach, and herbs including cilantro, dill, sage, and sunflowers.
