One of the highlights of the evening was the unveiling of our brand-new fall after-school clubs! We recognize that after-school programs are a critical component of modern education. Nationally, 85% of public K-12 schools offer after-school programs, with 60% focused on academics [5]. The after-school program market is booming, projected to reach $61.59 billion by 2032 [11], reflecting a growing understanding of the value of these programs in supporting academic achievement and social-emotional development.
We are thrilled to offer a diverse range of clubs designed to cater to various interests and passions:
- Art of Illusion Club with Ha’Morah Einat: Unleash your inner artist and explore the fascinating world of optical illusions! This club, held on Mondays, allows students to create mind-bending artwork that will amaze and inspire.
- Stop Motion Animation Club with Leighton: Bring your imagination to life through the magic of stop motion animation! Meeting on Tuesdays, students will learn the techniques to create their own animated films, from character design to storytelling.
- STEM Club with Mr. M: Dive into the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics! This club, held on Thursdays, offers hands-on activities and experiments that will spark curiosity and foster a love for STEM.
These clubs are designed to provide enriching experiences beyond the regular school day, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Reaccreditation: Our Commitment to Excellence
At Tucson Hebrew Academy, we are committed to continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of education. That’s why we are currently undergoing reaccreditation through Cognia, a rigorous review process that ensures our programs meet defined standards of quality.
Accreditation is vital because it ensures that we are providing our students with a high-quality education and striving for continuous improvement. The reaccreditation process involves a six-year cycle, with a comprehensive review in the final year. This includes data collection, report submissions, virtual site visits, and the development of a continuous improvement plan.
Your role in this process is crucial! We value your honest feedback through fall surveys and family interviews. By partnering with us, you contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our school and the educational experience we provide.
Academic Leveling: Tailoring Education to Individual Needs
We understand that every student learns at their own pace and has unique academic needs. To address this, we are implementing academic leveling in reading, math, and Hebrew groups. This data-driven approach allows us to match instruction to each student’s current readiness, ensuring that every child experiences strong growth.
Our academic leveling is based on a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) that addresses academic, behavioral, and emotional needs. We utilize screening, progress monitoring, and data analysis to make informed decisions about student placement and support.
The benefits of academic leveling are numerous:
